Niall Kirk Bio:
Hailing from Monaghan town, Niall Kirk has been nurturing a love affair with dance music since his first festival experience at Planet Love back in 1998. Not the most likely of beginnings for a house DJ you might say, but Paul van Dyk's performance convinced Niall that dance music was where the good times were at and might be worth investigating. After spending a few years listening to countless dance shows & mix tapes he finally took the big step in 2003 and paid a visit to his local DJ shop to invest in a set of 1210s.
It wasn't long, however, before he realised that digital was the way forward, the reliable 1210s were traded in for a set of CDJs, and his passion for all things digital began. Taking his influences from the likes of Luke Fair, Danny Howells, Ben Watt, Desyn Masiello and London/Dublin's own Michael Black, Niall began trawling through hundreds of new releases each and every week, in order to bring the freshest, most up-beat sounds to house loving dance floors. Playing a blend of deep/tech house with a touch of funk, his accessible sound is all about getting feet on the floor!
After a year out in Australia, Niall has slowly but surely been making his mark on the Irish clubbing scene. Having secured a residency with Dublin stalwarts, The Housejunkies in 2006, the word has been getting out that this is one DJ who knows how to get a dance floor heaving. Gigs in Traffic, Wax and Tripod have gone down a storm, slots on 2FM and ProtonRadio.com were praised by all who heard them and promo CDs have been put to the top of the pile by promoters North and South. So, take a classic combination of the old, but mostly the new, mix it in with a fun, open attitude, a great connection with the crowd, and you've got a pretty good idea of what to expect from a Niall Kirk set. See you up the front!
